US senators are working on a potential deal with President Donald Trump that would allow the Chinese telecommunications company ZTE Corp to stay in business, as he wishes, if there are tighter restrictions on the use of its products on national security grounds, according to people with knowledge of the discussions.

The changes, which would be made to an amendment in a defence appropriations bill approved by the Senate last week, include prohibiting US government agencies from buying ZTE products, according to the people, who asked not to be named because they are not authorised to speak publicly on the matter.

Lawmakers ask Commerce Department to clarify impact of ZTE ban on US firms

The senators’ deal with Trump, the sources said, would also ban ZTE from selling software or hardware in the US that could be used in critical technology or infrastructure assets.
Such assets would be defined by a new Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernisation Act, or FIRRMA, also part of the defence appropriations bill.

In exchange, senators would no longer seek to reinstate the original ban that the US Department of Commerce applied to ZTE in April, the sources said.

我靠，那太垃圾了，你没必要啊，完全可以走正规法律途径正常离职的。。。我还以为你是要拿全额补偿才送红包。。。

这有啥超出想象的，在26这是很正常的事情。总监or部长，没几个喜欢干活儿的，就喜欢跪舔的。有同事想转国内部门，一直压着非说人家部门没编制不让转。我当初想离职，说让给部门三个月缓冲器，拖着不让走；不到一个月，估摸着把你offer拖废了，就开始赶人；找了其他部门，人家愿意接收，这边就是不放，非说让转到他同意的部门去。尼玛，反正就是折腾你。一群垃圾。。。

The U.S. Department of Commerce still has not worked out the details necessary for lifting the ban on China's ZTE, a spokesman said on Thursday, even though an official last week said the final steps would be taken in a "couple of days."
"The department continues to work with ZTE," the Commerce spokesman said. He declined to comment on the cause of the delay.
