Top issue: How Far Will Foreign Investments Go Confronting China's Open VAS Market?
New DTV standard favers 16:9 display: China’s new digital television standard will deploy a display aspect ratio of 16:9, substituting the existing 4:3, according to Liu Quan’eng, director of the State Digital Television Standard Working Group.
The Open Source Development Labs (OSDL), a global consortium of leading technology companies dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Linux, announced on August 11 the forthcoming establishment of a new Beijing office with local staffing in China. The increase of Linux in China will exceed all other operating systems, including Microsoft’s Windows, according to IDC forecast.
